here's the ithaca set from thursday nite...
set I:
moderate threat > cowboy up
soft machine
i hate love*
paper birds
something learned
even rats
sorry
set II:
december's children
get me with fuji
sometimes true to nothing
new song ?
new song (white soda?)
encore:
proud
if one of us should fall
*w/ "knick knack paddywack" harmonica solo by brad
fuji was NASTY, STTN was rather huge, i dug the "white soda" new tune (those were the only lyrics i remember from it, but a sweet upbeat, poppy number, iirc), and i think brad's voice was best on i hate love, although he had a good night all around, vocally. friedman stood out all night. and i really enjoyed hearing something learned, cuz i really dig the song and never seen them do it live - they rocked it out!
good times all around, visited a shitload of waterfalls the next day, had a great host, good eats, and introduced a friend to The Slip and the whole road trip/show experience, which she dug quite a bit... right on!
i was just glad to get my slip fix... Ithaca is Gorges!

hey, no problem, man... also of note, sadly, not a taper in sight..
about that other new tune, i dont remember it being super quiet and mellow, but i also dont recall it being a rocker, either.. to be honest, i dont remember much about it... but, is "all i saw was you" a mostly a-capella marc tune? someone told me marc has a new tune that he sings mostly by himself - if that's true, then no, that wasnt it. and it wasnt "Thunder Rose", or "Brazilian" or whatever it might be called, either - i've heard that one and nope, dont think so... really have no clue what it was... i did get to talk with brad briefly after the show, but totally blanked on asking him about the new tunes...
