if no one has an extra battery then i think i might do the drastic measure!

bring two computers.... They are both using the same software and everything so do you think there would be a difference from both of them?

I hope not....

You should go for it! It will be a good "lesson" for you. I plan to be there as well. But you definitly should record and circulate your tape. I know one other guy will be recording from the balcony but normally doesn't circulate his recordings. Maybe another taper or two will be there as well. I hope so. This show should be rocking!

I think it is assigned but I'm not sure. That might be a pain for me too. I want to run a front of board rig, mid floor. I do not want to set up and sun a snake from the soundboard to the middle of the floor and just before the show realize that my stand and mics are in someones seat. I'll be waiting till tomorrow to find out. Thats one reason I'm saying you should record. I might not be able to make a decent circulatable recording. I think the guy in the balcony got tickets up there. I am at a loss in terms of knowing how many people are gonna show up. I haven't been there in a couple years. I do recall the 2 Slip shows I had seen there being pretty full. Of course one was NYE.

Depends on the person. I can remember a show at the Calvin in which I had center balcony tickets. This was Hornsby with Kimock. I was early and had a whole rig clamped to the rail and gear in a chair next to me. I had two tickets but only used one of them. They were given to me to make a tape. $40 tickets I think. My actual tickets were second row back from the balcony. I was hoping whoever had the seats I took would be cool and move back a row for a copy of the show. Just before showtime a couple in thier 40's or early 50's came and were having none of it. They didn't even want to hear me out. Left to go get someone to kick me out. I ended up having to run down to a taper on the floor last minute and get a patch, AND ask him to hit record for me. I wasn't too into the show anyway. Later that night I went to an afterparty at the girls house that gave me the tickets. They were big on Strangefolk and went to a folk show that was booked after they had already bought tickets. I ended up giving the DAT to a Strangefolk taper and never got the CD's or the DAT back either. Did jam with the guys in the band a bit. This was a small gathering with the group and their local (Amherst) friends. That was a strange night. Pun intended.
