drat!
i actually discovered that i downloaded *both* sources by accident (lol), but i'm coming up with decoding errors in the three tracks from disk three from *both* sources! i threw away the files from one of the sources and redownloaded them, only to come up with the same problem again.
grrr...
what are checksum/fingerprints, and how would that help?

They allow you to quickly test the flac files integrity. To make sure that you got the files exactly as they were created down to the last bit. How about this? Is your hard drive full? You might not have room to decode the last three, that would gve you an error message too.what are checksum/fingerprints, and how would that help?
I already converted my FLAC files to Mp3's, anyone?

i appreciate your offer, RL...
but just so's you know... mp3 is a "lossy" format, which means the integrity of the original waveform is compromised. most folks can't hear the difference, but as far as trading music goes, it's preferable by far to use only non-lossy file formats (some would say mandatory, actually).
i'm trying to redownload those three files one last time, and if this doesn't work then i'm giving up and will try to get ahold of the tracks another way...
there are ways to send mp3 files (email, chat, etc), and just for my personal use that would be fine. i'd like to somehow get the original track files so i'll have this show available for trade too...

actually, cleantone, i discovered the other day when my bittorrent program was crashing that yes, indeed, my hard drive was full! that particular issue has been resolved.
this one though, *shrug*
i located the fingerprint files and checked... sure enough, errors in those three files. i just find it weird that these three would come up with errors from three separate download attempts and two different sources. odd.
so, like i said above, i'm trying it one more time, and i'll let y'all know if that one works.

if you've still got the flac's then you can still convert from flac to aiff or wav for trading...
and...
(because i know you're all waiting on the edge of your seats!)
success! i guess the fourth time was the charm. silly files!!
