Greyboy Allstars from the 930 Club

Post: # 9885Post Phrazz »

Karl Denson, Robert Walters, Chris Stilwell, Elgin Park and Zak Najor have joined forces again for a reunion tour that is set for a fall album release (or recording, I heard mixed info). They tore the roof off the 930 Club! It was one of those legendary shows, showing us what Karl's Aerobicize does for your boogie. I even met some cats from Beantown! Small world I tell ya.

These are the few I picked out of the bunch..

They haven't toured in this combination for about 7 - 8 years. Put them on the short list of "must see" bands (especially if you like ear-searing rock-your-socks-off funk).

They played a "reunion" show or two in '04. I saw them at Jazzfest that year.
I went to the show last WED at Avalon in Boston, I'll post a few pics too.....

Thanks Phrazz - I like that shot of Elgin.

My girlfriend and I saw one of the three nights they did in SF. It was a good time, but I can only imagine they've picked up quite a bit of steam rolling through the land.

I've gotten to see two of their one-off shows over the last 4-5 years, and they are one of the great dance-your-ass-off bands out there.

i got a treat when i caught this tour last month at the hob-chicago. stillwell's wife was expecting so they drafted none other than reed mathis himself to perform with them.

i was so flabbergasted when the curtain went up and i see this familiar looking face on stage. turned out to be reed.

gotta get my hand on those shows. karl and the entire band, especially reed and elgin, were on fire.
